December 2019: Holiday Self-Care Kit

“Up next, I found this little jar of moisturising body scrub. The first thing I noticed is that it smells absolutely delicious. On further inspection it contains fair trade Shea butter, Haitian coffee, coconut, and rum – all good things. I can’t wait to treat myself to a hot bath and use some of this as a treat.”

The Body Love Box (@thebodylovebox) is a fat-positive, body-positive, intersectional and LGBTQIAP+- monthly subscription box. I was lucky enough to be #gifted the December Box themed ‘Holiday Self-Care Kit’. Please note that all opinions are my own and I am not being paid for this review. Within the box was an awesome self-care journal, a button, squishy macaron keychain, a beautiful art print, sticker sheet, fair trade body scrub, body liberation journal by @bodyliberationwithlindley and some reading/quote card & bookmark. The box retails for $38 USD plus postage. . . I really loved the box – it was a fun thing to receive and I can’t wait to get stuck into the journal which was my favourite item. If I lived in the US I would definitely subscribe to this box, but living in Melbourne, Australia meant the box with shipping would cost approximately $87 AUD total per month which unfortunately is out of my price range. However, I love the idea and I wish something like this existed in Australia! Thanks Body Love Box! ?

January 2019: Fat Unicorns

1) i'm wearing a UNICORN HORN for the fat unicorn box from The Body Love Box2) I did my makeup JUST FOR YOU!3) I added SPARKLES to the video! Okay, so this is January's body love box because I missed it, but I was overjoyed to get this box and it was AMAZING! To subscribe to your own body love boxes (once a month) go ahead and click here: https://www.thebodylovebox.com/refer/Heath-WNYGHHSYTo go to the body love box's shop to get previous boxes and individual items from those boxes click here: https://www.thebodylovebox.com/shop/all/As always, S Lindley Ashline has done such an amazing job putting these boxes together. I am so so eternally grateful for the hard work she does, for the dedication she has both to the boxes themselves, to fellow fatties, and to making sure the products each box contains come from marginalized artists, and also for her commitment to paying living wages to the artists she buys from. Basically- this is a subscription i can feel really good about. it nourishes my soul (and that's what self care is all about imo) and makes me feel so good.
